Why I'm building this
I'm an independent developer who has been learning Mandarin for a few years with native content. My weak point is listening comprehension, especially when a native speaker starts rattling off sentences like I grew up in China.
When I first turned off subtitles for my Netflix and Youtube shows, I felt like I was listening to gibberish. I had been using the subtitles as a crutch for my poor listening skills. I simply did not have the same quality of tools to study listening as I did for other modalities. I've set out to build an engaging tool to help you master your Mandarin listening so you never again have to ask a native speaker to slow their pace down or repeat a sentence again.
